Lyle Fulton LaMont, age 84, of Caledonia, Illinois died Friday, March 11, 2005 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Lyle was born February 21, 1921 in Esmond, Illinois the son of James and Bertha (Mowers) LaMont. He attended a country school and Stillman Valley High School. Lyle married Margaret Mead on November 18, 1938 and to this union five children were born. He worked for National Lock prior to serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. Lyle retired from Twin Disc Clutch after 25 years of service in 1983. Lyle was a resident of Caledonia for 53 years and served as Caledonia Township Supervisor for 17 years, President of the Board of Trustees of District #3 Fire Prevention for 15 years. Lyle was a member of the Caledonia Congregational Church where he served as a Trustee for many years. He was President of the UAW Local 765 and a member retirees, past Commander of the American Legion Post 205 as well as a long time Scout Leader. Lyle was a hard worker, a good provider and loving husband and father. He enjoyed gardening, day trips in the car and he loved all animals especially dogs.Survivors include his wife, Margaret; sons, Lyle (Nancy) of Gurnee, James M. (Pam) of Caledonia; daughters Shirley Smith of Machesney Park, Margaret Weaver of Rockford and Mary (Joe) Hill of Commerce, Michigan; 16 grandchildren, Lloyd Bryant, Theresa Marie Upchurch, Larry Steven Bryant, Daniel Lee, Bryant, Lisa Ann Jacobs, Michael David Bryant, John Jason Smith, Shane Patrick hill, Poppy Jo Krause, Stephanie Marie Van Geel, Rachel Suzane Schenck, Jeffrey LaMont, Matthew LaMont, Mary Margaret Michaud, Aaron Jeffry Weaver, Kevin Charles Weaver;23 great-grandchildren, Jennifer Gillaspy, Yvonne Sosa, Cassandra Upchurch, Nicole Bryant, Brooke Bryant, Larry Bryant, Jessica Bryant, Andrew Bailey, Johnathon Bailey, Tiffany Jacobs, Jordan Bryant, Adam Bryant, Gabriella Krause, Mindy Michaud, Zachery Michaud, Wyatt Weaver, Shawn Weaver, Christopher Weaver, Jeffrey Weaver, Michaela VanGeel, Connor Van Geel, Brett Schenck, Kiley Schenck and 5 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert E., James E. and Marvin LaMont.
