Lyle W. Hauth, 86, of Caledonia, IL died peacefully, Sunday afternoon, March 23, 2014 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center after a short illness. Lyle was born December 21, 1927 in Belvidere, IL the son of Clarence E. and Sadie H.S. (Brehmer) Hauth. He married Marilyn J. Singletary on June 6, 1953 in Beloit, WI. Lyle retired from Rockford Clutch, a division of Borg Warner, where he worked as a machinist. He also worked part-time for "Ding" Englund at the House of Bottles and also bartended at the V.F.W. and Spirit of 76. Lyle was a past master of both the Belvidere and Capron Masonic Lodges; a life member of the John Hugo Kaiser VFW Post 1461. He dutifully served our country in the Army Air Corp in occupied Japan as an Aircraft and Engine mechanic; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, sitting by the camp fire and reading. Lyle was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Burton, WI and a current member of Caledonia Congregational Church.
Lyle is loved and will be missed by his wife, Marilyn; children, Debra (Richard) Piper of Caledonia, Karen (Raymond) Brewington of Millersville, MO, Susan (Arthur) Mullis of Sharon, WI, Linda (James) Stafford of Sharon, WI; grandchildren, Kimberly (Lyle) Severson, Richard (Lisa) Swanson, Holly (Chad) Weise, Jason Reeds, Abigail Reeds, Ryan (Shyla) Mullis, Tanya Mullis, Brandon Stafford, Megan Stafford, Jimmy Stafford, Star Stafford, Christopher Stafford; many great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene (Shirley) Hauth of Rockford; special cousins Cindy (James) Heim and Steven (Grace) Kluson; nieces and nephews and his canine best buddy, Cooter. Lyle is preceded in death by his parents; several aunts and uncles, including special aunt "Sis" Eloise Kluson.
Funeral services will be held at Noon, Saturday, March 29, 2014 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services: Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL with Rev. Gary Schwerin, pastor of Caledonia Congregational Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Saturday with Masonic rites given at 11:45. Military rites will be offered.
