Luvern E. Reber, 101, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully, Thursday morning October 4, 2018 at Maple Crest Care Centre.  Luvern was born February 21, 1917 in Augusta, Wisconsin the daughter of William I and Marie L. (Boetzer) Boetcher.  Following her graduation of Rockford High School, Class of 1935, Luvern attended Rockford Business College.  She married Kenneth L. Reber on July 14, 1939 in Rockford and was a devoted farm wife and mother.  Luvern also worked for Geo. Roper Corp. as a payroll clerk and Edwards Orchard.  Luvern made her spiritual home at Poplar Grove United Methodist church where she was a past president of the UMW, trustee, served on the building committee as well as being a Sunday school teacher.  Her civic involvement included the American Legion Unit President Post 205 and Boone County Homemakers.

Luvern is loved and will be missed by her children, Penelope Mahringer of Marshfield, WI, Susan (William) Hanson of Poplar Grove, IL; grandchildren, Kent (Laura) Maly of Milwaukee, WI, Amanda (Richard) Hahn of Poplar Grove, IL ;great-grandchildren, Angelina Maly, Alexander Maly, Haven Hahn, Landon Hahn and William Hahn.  Luvern is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; daughter, Sandra; grandson, Andrew Maly; great-grandson, Christopher Maly; sisters, Hilda Streeter, Alice Moore and Betty Smith; brother, Harold Boetcher.

Memorial gathering will be held from 9:00 a.m., to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Poplar Grove United Methodist Church, 105 East Grove Street, Poplar Grove, IL 61065.  Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. Doug Carroll celebrating.  Burial of Luvern's cremated body will be in Willwood Burial Park, Rockford.  Memorials can be given in care of Poplar Grove United Methodist Church in Luvern's remembrance.  Arrangements by Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W.
