Lucy D. Porter, 76, Belvidere, Illinois died Thursday evening, January 11, 2007 in Northwoods Care Center after a short illness. Lucy was born in Pekin, Illinois on September 2, 1930. She married Dale A. Porter on January 12, 1950 in Belvidere, IL. He predeceased her on October 20, 1986. Lucy was a waitress for 50 years; working for the Shady Lane for 28 years and then various restaurants including the Steam Plant for 5 years. Lucy enjoyed fishing, particularly at Lake George in Wisconsin. She was an avid Cub and Bears Fan. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed visiting the "Boats" in Elgin and East Dubuque.Survivors include her children, Clark Porter and Suzy (Neil) Bender both of Belvidere; grandchildren, Staci Buck, Shari (Ryan) Snyder, Angie Bender, Jenny Hultzel; great grandchildren, Sadi, Makayla, Myranda, Ryan "Buddy", Brad Jr., Christopher; friends; Sue Nevel, Wanda Watts and Elsie Rote; and her faithful dog and companion, Oscar.Lucy is predeceased by her parents; husband, Dale and grandson, Kevin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given in care of the family.
