Lucille Ann Dorn was born in Plato Center, Illinois, November 9, 1921, the daughter of Henry and Tillie (Sester) Hartje. She lived on this earth 100 years, being taken home to heaven April 4, 2022.

Lucille was a member of the North Plato Lutheran Church where she was baptized August 17, 1924 by Pastor K. H. Rozak with Anna and Arnold Zirk as sponsors. She was confirmed July 1, 1934 by Pastor Otto Hitzeroth. She graduated from Plato Township High School in 1939. She met Floyd Dorn dancing at Blue Moon and married him on June 27, 1947 in the home of her aunt and uncle Anna and Arnold Zirk in Elgin. Their witnesses were Edna Hartje and Gail Dorn.

She worked 7 years at Elgin National Watch Factory as an assembler, 7 years at National Sewing Machine Factory, 1 year at Ferro Electric and 27 years at Parson's Casket Factory as a machine operator until she retired in 1982. She was a member of the Machinist Union Belvidere Local 101. Lucille enjoyed dancing, traveling, camping, car races, family picnics, gardening and Sorosis Club outings.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She's predeceased by her husband Floyd; parents Henry and Tillie (Sester) Hartje; seven sisters, Florence Hecker, Edna Austby, Alma Lee, Alice Lake, Norma Benson, Bernice Jones, Arlene Casey; four brothers, Elmer Hartje, Harold (Bud) Hartje, Melvin (Sonny) Hartje and Vernon Hartje.

A visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of her service at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. Steve Anderson will be officiating. Burial at Belvidere Cemetery.
