Lucille Ann Boettcher, 85, of Belvidere, died Thursday, May 19, 2011 in Homebridge Care Center surrounded by her family. Born May 2, 1926 in Union, IL, daughter of Erwin and Frances (Bloedorn) Koplin. Married Wilbert A. Boettcher on September 30, 1945. Worked at the Huddle Restaurant for 18 years retiring in 1989. Lucille loved to play dominoes, scrabble, poker and slots.Survivors include her daughter Starr VanderHaeghen of Belvidere, sons Randy (Karen) Boettcher of Machesney Park and Bruce (Karen) Boettcher of Caledonia, 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, sister Betty (Jack) Sorensen of Woodstock, brothers Harold (Gloria) Koplin of S. Carolina, Gerald (Linda) Koplin, Dennis (Barbara) Koplin, and Robert (Joyce) Koplin all of Marengo, sister-in-law Evelyn of Marengo, numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, husband Wilbert, daughter Melody Gross, grandson Brett, sister Shirley (Kenneth) Osterberg, and brother Donald Koplin.
