It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Louis (Lou) LaPuma on December 31, 2024, at the age of 62. Lou was born on November 28, 1962 in Chicago, IL., to Joseph and Margaret (Luce) LaPuma.

Lou worked as a Sheet Metal Worker in Local Union 73 for over 30 years before he had an early retirement.

Lou was known for his unconditional love for his family, hard work, and humor. In his free time he loved to fish and to watch the Chicago Bears.  Lou was married to the the love of his life, Patty LaPuma, for 41 years. During their marriage, they had two kids and numerous pets.

Lou is survived by his wife, Patty LaPuma. His two children, Louie LaPuma Jr. and Kaitlin (Jagger) Schlieger. Brothers: Joe LaPuma, Phil (Louisa) LaPuma, Don LaPuma, Dave (Candi) LaPuma. Along with multiple nieces and nephews.

Lou is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph LaPuma and Margaret (Luce) LaPuma. His sister Trish (Vic) Rackauskas and his brother Anthony LaPuma.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Liver Foundation in Lou's honor.

The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
