Louis Charles Anderson passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, in his home at 91 years old.
He leaves behind his wife and partner of 62 years, Mabel (Guthrie) Anderson, five children: Brenda Isaacs (Danny), Brian (Lisa), Barrie (Cathy), Belinda Roberts (Lloyd) and Brent (Amy). He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 7 step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and life-long friends.
Louis was the oldest son of Earl and Marjory (Covey) Anderson. He was born on July 30, 1932. He is predeceased in death by his parents, his brothers: Leslie, Robert, and David.
He was a lifelong farmer starting at the age of 12 when his father was stricken with polio. Louis served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp from 1952-1954. He was a dairy farmer and then raised beef cattle and pigs. Louis sold Renk Seed for 65 years. He served his community as a township official for 44 years, and supervisor for 36 of those years.
Louis was an employee of District 200 Schools. He was a member of the North Boone School Board. He enjoyed bowling, card games, reading, being around his family, and never met a stranger.
He had a servant's heart, was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Louis' visitation will be Saturday, April 6, between the hours of 1 and 3pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008. Funeral service to follow at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Boone County food pantry.
