Louie R. Rowe, 96, of Belvidere, IL passed away from complications of COVID-19 on December 13, 2020 in Belvidere, IL. Louie was born on September 12, 1924 in Paragould, AK to Frank and Oma (Henderson) Rowe. Louie married the love of his life, Moudie L. Smith, on February 1, 1941 in Wilson, AK. The two were married for 72 glorious years before her passing in 2013. Louie worked as a Crane Operator for Belvidere Construction for 24 years before his retirement in 1984. Louie faithfully served our country in the United States Army during WW II. He was a member of the Local 150 Operating Engineers for 67 years. Louie loved fishing and hunting. More importantly, Louie loved spending time with his family. No matter who you were, you were always a member of Louie's family.

He will be dearly missed by his children, Louie W. (Babette) Rowe, Ottie W. (Mary) Rowe, Marie Hardy, Phyllis (Steve) Olson, and Teresa (David) Davis; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Moudie; 2 infant daughters; 4 brothers; 1 sister; and 2 infant brothers.
