Lorraine E. Nelson, 94, of Belvidere, IL, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Maple Crest Care Center. Lorraine was born November 19, 1921 in Chicago, IL, daughter of Charles and Addie (Danielson) Jearns. She married Elmer Nelson on November 25, 1944 at Bethany Evangelical in Chicago. Lorraine worked as a secretary for the Independent order of Svithiod before becoming a mother. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Belvidere, where she served with the Zion Women. Lorraine was a member of the Belvidere Women's Club. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Lorraine is loved and will be missed by her children, Donna (Terry) Lahann of Austin, MN, and Susan (Robert) Letourneau of Belvidere, IL; grandchildren, Michael (Bethany) Lahann, Randall (Candice) Lahann, Jennifer (Darian) Dalsen, Christopher (Courtney) Letourneau, Emily (Kenneth) Cooper; great-grandchildren, Garrett Lahann, Luke Dalsen, Christopher Lahann, Maria Lahann, Eli Dalsen, Jaxon Cooper; sister, Ann Doty of Rockford, IL; sister-in-law, Bess Nelson of Lisbon, ND; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, special father, John Andren and husband, Elmer.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2015  at Zion Lutheran Church, 1300 Pearl Street, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Rev. Scott Stolberg officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m., until the time of service. Burial will be at Highland Garden of Memories. Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church in Lorraine's name.
