Lorraine Marion Kiefer, 95, of Belvidere, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026.

Lorraine was born on February 24, 1931, to Menno Zimmer and Loretta Scott. She married the love of her life, Theodore Kiefer, on December 30, 1950. Together they built a loving home and raised five children: Ted, Mary, Patricia, Mike, and Cindy.

Lorraine was a talented musician who shared her gifts as both a pianist and vocalist. She was a devoted homemaker and a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured time spent with her family. Lorraine was known for her warm personality, her humor, and her genuine enjoyment of being around others. She was deeply involved in her church and community and was an active member of the Rotary Club, Ada Stearns Fellowship, Moose Lodge, and VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Luedke and Cynthia Oldenburg; her son, Mike (Mary) Kiefer; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Kiefer; her son-in-law, Denny Friday; her grandchildren, Matthew Kiefer, Tyler Ludke, Elizabeth Kiefer, Lauren Friday Johnson, Jacob Kiefer, Caroline Kiefer Bell, and Emily Luedke Barrett; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Theodore Kiefer; her children, Ted Kiefer and Mary Friday; her brothers, Howard and Maynard Zimmer; her sister, Joyce Eisler; and her parents, Menno and Loretta Zimmer.

A visitation for Lorraine will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, located at 1255 S. Jackson St., Belvidere, Illinois, with a funeral service to follow at 4:00 p.m.

Lorraine’s kindness, faith, humor, and love for her family will be remembered always by those who knew and loved her.
