Belvidere, ILLorraine E. Carpenter, 94, of Rockford and formerly of Belvidere, IL died Wednesday morning, October 30, 2013 in Alden Alma-Nelson after a short illness. Lorraine was born October 24, 1919 in Belvidere, the daughter of Oscar and Margreta (Berg) Jordan. She married Glenn Carpenter on November 22, 1944 in Belvidere and worked a short time for O'Brien and Dobbin's Pharmacy. Lorraine was a former member of the Business Women of Belvidere and Boone County Saddle Club. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.Lorraine is loved and will be missed by her children, Karen (Charles) Rubert of Rockford, Vickie Hyde of Chandler, AZ, Glen (Jane) Carpenter of Center Barnestead, NH; five grandchildren; two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson; a niece and nephew. Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Howard Jordan; grandson, Nick Carpenter and an infant sister.
