Obituary

Lorette Rogers, 84, of Belvidere, IL, died May 18, 2022.She was born September 27, 1937, in Chicago, IL, to Nathan and Edith (Rousseau) Lubke.She married Louis Rogers Jr. April 30, 1960, in McHenry, IL. The two were married for 43 years until his passing in 2004. Lorette graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1981 with a Bachelors of General Studies, and was an Elementary Teacher for many years before becoming a Homemaker. She was very involved in St. James Catholic Church. Lorette was not one to sit around, and was involved in many things including the Literacy Volunteers of America, the Silver Bells acapella group, and multiple church volunteer opportunities such as making costumes for the children's pageants. She was very creative and accomplished in the arts as well, and was a gifted painter, seamstress, and quilter. She enjoyed puzzles and games of all kinds, especially playing scrabble. Lorette is an extremely generous and genuine person. She loved children and was a mother figure to many.

Lorette is survived by her sons Buddy (Lorry) Rogers, Terry (Dianne) Rogers, Chester (Pearl) Rogers, Ethan (Silvia) Rogers, Aaron (Ann) Rogers, David Rogers, and Adam (Jenny) Rogers; daughter Louette Rogers; and many grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Nathan and Edith; husband Louis; sisters Agnes Lubke, Barbara Kancilja, and Edith "Sally" Abate; brother Nathan Lubke; and son Timothy Luke Rogers.
