Lorene B. Farel, 89, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully, Monday, May 26, 2014 in her home surrounded by her loving family.  Lorene was born June 15, 1924 in Vidette, Arkansas the daughter of Oscar and Josie (Bryant) Foster.  Lorene married Daniel R."Ross" Farel in Bakersfield, Missouri on November 28, 1938.  She retired from Arnold Engineering where she worked for 30 years.  Lorene was a member of Belvidere First Assembly of God Church and enjoyed quilting and being with her quilting friends.

Lorene is loved and will be missed by her children, Gene (Louise) Farel of Belvidere, Darlene Carlson of Belvidere; grandchildren, Larry Farel, Debra Stumpf, Tami (Jerry) Keefauver; great-grandchildren, Shianna (Brandon) Keegan, Coty Stumpf, Zachary Farel, Jory Keefauver, Zoey Keefauver; great-great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Kaden and Kameron Keegan; special sister in-law, Della Mae Foster of Bakersfield, Missouri; special friends, Myrtle Stewart and Sandy Anderson both of Belvidere; several nieces and nephews.  Lorene is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ross; sisters, Clara Pemberton, Zella Roberts and brothers, Ralph, Lee "Buck", Roy and Vernon.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2014 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL with Rev. Dale Anderson officiating.
