Lois Jean Ries, born in Forrest City, Arkansas, died at the age of 87, passing away on March 7, 2023. She was born on October 17, 1935 to Lois (Webb) Harris and Oris "Bill" Harris. She married David H. Ries on January 22, 1956. Lois stayed on base while her husband was in the Navy and cared for her daughters. Daughter, Lois Gail Ries, was born in Memphis, Tennessee on April 28, 1957 and daughter, Debra Jean Ries was born in Bermuda on February 9, 1959. She was an avid seamstress, sewing many of the clothing for her family. Later in life, she and her husband bred and raised Schnauzers. She continued to always have a Schnauzer by her side after David's death, first Trixie and then Sophie.

She is survived by her grandsons: Jordan Rhodes and Blain (Leah) Rhodes; two great-grandsons, Nash and Shep; and great-granddaughter, Chaplin; as well as extended family whom she loved dearly. She is welcomed into heaven by her husband, David H. Ries; who died on October 25, 2008; her parents, Lois and Bill Harris; daughters, Debra Jean Ries and Lois Gail (Chris) Rhodes; and brother, William Harris.

A memorial service will be Friday, March 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services. A visitation will take place at 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment at St. James Catholic Cemetery following the service.
