Lois Ann Gauger, 69, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 22, 2025.

Born on February 3, 1956, she was the youngest of six children and grew up on her family's farm. In 1976, Lois married Jerry Gauger, and together they shared 49 years of marriage and raised two children.

She worked at Elsie's, where she enjoyed the company of coworkers and customers alike. Known for her cooking, Lois often prepared meals for family gatherings. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, motorcycle rides, and traveling. Her beloved dogs, Gidget and Mandy, were constant companions, and she never missed an opportunity to spoil them.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Evelyn McBride; brothers, Wayne, Jack, Bob and James McBride.

She is survived by her spouse, Jerry Gauger; their children, Heather (Magdaleno) Barraza and Jason Gauger; grandchildren, Austin Johnson, Bianca Benitez, Juan Benitez, Gabriela Bazen, and Alonzo Barraza; great-grandchildren, Aureliana Benitez and Raylin Bazen. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry (Carla) McBride as well as numerous extended family members.

Cremation rites have been accorded and private family inurnment will be held at Highland Garden of Memories.
