Belvidere, IllinoisLois Burton, 93, of Belvidere, Il died Wednesday evening, March 9, 2011 in her home after a lingering illness. Lois was born September 3, 1917 in Ogema, WI the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James A. and Myrtle L. (Carter) Stewart. She married Wayne W. Burton on March 2, 1940 in Belvidere. Lois worked with her husband at Burton Motors as well as caring for her family. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star and was a social member of the VFW and American Legion.She is survived by her daughter, Candi (John) MacGowan of Belvidere and a niece K. (Earl)Menzel of Oregon House, CA.; her caregivers, Mellissa Hernandez, Brittany Downs, Kimberly Prigge. Lois is predeceased by her parents, husband and two sisters, Ione Ekstrom and Glyda Gahlbeck.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be given in care of Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center.
