It is with great sadness that the family of Lloyd D. McWilliams, 76, of Rockford, announces his peaceful passing surrounded by his family at his home on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Born March 15, 1946, in Rockford, the son of Dorothy Harriet Rapp and Lloyd Wilmer McWilliams. He graduated from East High School and married Barb McWilliams (Rockford) on May 7, 1966, in Cherry Valley.

Lloyd was an avid golfer and coach who had a passion for coaching junior golf. He loved to continuously learn new things and loved to share that knowledge with his young pupils as well as his family. His legacy will live on through the Lloyd McWilliams Winter Golf Academy as well as all the youth golfers' lives that he has touched.

Nine months ago, he was diagnosed with a terminal illness after losing his wife the previous year. He decided at that time to live his life to the fullest doing what he loved most. He traveled with his family and close friends to Florida playing golf and spending time with his family. He was able to travel to watch his students play in various golf tournaments.

He was an amazing man who has touched too many lives to list. If you were lucky enough to count yourself as one of them then you know what I am talking about. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, mentor, and coach! We will all miss him more than he could ever imagine and more than we can ever express but we know you are in a better place with your wife (soul mate) and the rest of your family!

Lloyd will forever be missed. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Raddatz; and his wife, Barbara McWilliams. Lloyd is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (Robert) Kludt; and son, Patrick (Sheri) McWilliams. Lloyd was blessed with five grandchildren: Michelle Kludt, Danielle Spiess, Kalden Kludt, Rissa Mikos and Justin McWilliams. He adored his six great grandchildren: Canden Bowers, Rylee Spiess, Matthew Cashatt, Jonathan Cashatt, Mikah Kludt, and Braxton Mikos. He loved and will be missed by his daughter in spirit, Karyn Young.
