Lloyd U. CrullPoplar Grove, IllinoisLloyd U. Crull, 88, of Poplar Grove, died Thursday, August 28, 2008 in Rockford Memorial Hospital following a short illness. He was born August 9, 1920 in Byron, Illinois, the son of Urban and Edna (Grady) Crull. He was married to Florence Jeffers in the Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church on April 9, 1943. He was a long-time Grain and Dairy Farmer. He lived and farmed at the same farm since he was 17 years old. Lloyd was a member of Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church. He served on the North Boone School District board for 20 years. He was also a member of the Boone County Farm Bureau for several years. Lloyd was a big sports fan of high school, college and professional sports. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Bears and Bulls fan. He attended Rockford Central High School for three years and graduated from Capron High School. He attended Northern Illinois University where he played football. He is survived by five children, Garry (Karen) Crull, Loves Park, Ill.; Kathy Anderson, Caledonia, Ill.; Gordon (Autumn) Crull, Garfield, Ark.; Bradley (Kerry) Crull and Brian (Sue) Crull, both of Poplar Grove; seventeen grandchildren, Kari McCue, Jeffrey (Amy) Crull, Beth McCoy, Eric (Regina) Bliss, Deborah Bliss, Rachel Bliss, Stacy (Sharon) Crull, Kyle Crull, Collin Crull, Cara Crull, Stephanie Stout, Nicole Stout, Kelsey Crull, Justin Crull, Brandon Crull, Jessica Crull, Briana Crull; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marguerite Bloom, Marie Griffis and Virginia Karlson. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, wife in 2001; a grandson, James Bliss; a grandson-in-law, Shannon McCue; two sisters, Phyllis Perkins, Fern Brown-Noss; three brothers, Lyle, Ivan and Donald Crull.
