Lisa Michelle Slaven, 48, of Belvidere, died Monday, April 11, 2011 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born August 28, 1962 in East Chicago, IN, daughter of Doyle and Kate (Wilson) Dugan. Married Jimmy Slaven on January 22, 1986 in Hammond, IN. Most recently Lisa worked as a secretary for Washington Elementary. Her life's ambition was always to take care of her husband and kids. She will be greatly missed by her husband, kids, grandkids and her extended family at the school. She loved life, her family, had a wonderful sense of humor, and was an avid reader.Survivors include her husband Jimmy, daughter Lacee, sons Aaron and Alex all of Belvidere, step-sons Johnny (Heather) of Highland, IN, Jerry (Dawn) of Crown Point, IN, Ricky (Amy) of Hammond, IN, and Robert (Jackie) of Highland, IN, 10 grandchildren, sister Sharon (Brian) Ray, and brother Dana (Alice) Dugan. Predeceased by her parents and brother Kevin Dugan.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family for college funds for her children.
