Linda D. Sherman, 55, of Poplar Grove, Illinois died Tuesday afternoon, August 22, 2006 in her home with her husband, Lyle, at her side after a four month illness. Linda was born December 17, 1950 in Belvidere the daughter of Willard and Edna (Austin) Butler. She married Lyle Sherman on July 7, 1990 in Rockton, Illinois. Linda was a hairdresser and former village trustee for Poplar Grove. She attended Poplar Grove United Methodist Church and enjoyed golf and bowling, but her true passion was loving her children and grandchildren.Survivors include her husband, Lyle of Poplar Grove; son, Butch (Shelly) Rosecke of Byron; son in-law, Roger Nguyen of Katy, TX; mother, Edna Butler of Belvidere; step children, Janet (Jim) Salley of Caledonia, Jason (Michelle) Sherman of Poplar Grove; grandchildren, Justin and Kassie Rosecke, Grace and Kate Nguyen, Kristen, Jessie and Andrew Salley, Alexis and Zoey Sherman; sisters, Velma (Jerry) Knox, Dixie (Joe) Kirk, Phyllis Boardman, Raetta Wille all of Belvidere, Carol (Roy) Brening of Genoa, Donna (Bernie) Grotheer of Shreveport, La, Connie (Denny) Norris of Cherry Valley; brothers, Bill Butler of Belvidere, Marvin (Jean) Butler of Rockford and Melvin (Peggy) Butler of Texas; numerous nieces and nephews. Linda is preceded in death by her father, Willard Butler and daughter, Jenny Nguyen.
