Linda J. Ball, 77 of Belvidere, IL, died peacefully November 28, 2025, in Rockford, IL. She was born December 19, 1947, in Belvidere, daughter to Francis Harold and Gertrude (Walberg) Walker. She graduated from Belvidere High School in 1965 and worked as a microfilmer in the insurance industry. She was also a wonderful caretaker for her parents for many years. Linda had a strong Christian faith and attended Evangelical Mission Covenant in Belvidere.

Over the past year, cancer took a toll on her, but not without a silver lining. Her son, daughter-in-law, and grandson were able to spend more time with her than they would have had a chance to otherwise, and got to know what an incredibly strong person she was. They will cherish that time forever. Her son was also surprised to learn how funny she was, always making everyone laugh. Linda was the most kind soul, always putting everyone before herself, always so thoughtful about every detail. Everyone she met said she was the sweetest person.

She loved Sweden, manatees, eagles, gnomes, her adventurous trip to Alaska, Bingo (especially when she won Swedish Fish), and most of all, her family, especially her only grandson, Greyson.

Linda is loved and missed by her son Christopher D. Ball; daughter-in-saw Angela; grandson Greyson; 3 brothers, Larry Walker, Lon Walker, Lyle Walker; and many nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by daughter Jessica; brother Loren Walker; her parents, Francis and Gertrude Walker, and her puppy Sparky.
