Lillian F. Hawkins, 88, of Belvidere, died Saturday, October 15, 2005 in her son's home following a courageous battle with cancer. Born March 5, 1917 in Forest Park, Illinois, daughter of Henry and Amelia (Koehler) Kaufeldt. She has lived in Belvidere for the past 8 years, coming here from Wheaton, Illinois. She was a home typist for the insurance business. Member of St. James Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, walking and visiting gambling boats. Lillian was an avid reader, especially spy novels. She graduated from Proviso Township High School – Maywood, Illinois, class of 1935. She is survived by three sons, Dr. Robert (Anne) Hawkins, St Charles, Illinois; James (Diane) Hawkins, Belvidere; Michael Hawkins, San Diego, California; five grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Goetschel and Ruth Cisowski, both of Sun City, Arizona; Predeceased by parents, husband and two sisters, Audrey Marks and Annette Matecske.
