Obituary

Leona A. Ressler, 92, of Belvidere, died Saturday, February 7, 2009 in Maple Crest Care Center following a short illness. Born July 4, 1916 in Belvidere, the daughter of Fred and Emma (Berg) Schubert. She married Louis Q. Ressler in Palmyra, MO on June 12, 1942. She was an inspector for the National Sewing Machine Co. then a Cook for the Huddle Restaurant and then was a clerk for O'Brien – Dobbins Drug Store before retiring. Leona was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was a caregiver for other people. She is survived by two sons, Richard Ressler and Terry (Elaine) Ressler, both of Belvidere; three grandchildren, Carrie (Josh Bohling) Ressler, Belvidere; Philip (Barbara) Ressler, Maple Park, IL, Bret (Renee) Ressler, Belvidere; two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Grace Ressler. She was preceded in death by parents and brother, Lyle "Butch" Schubert.
