LaVila M. McConnell, 83, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully, Friday morning, July 8, 2022, in Kindred Hospital, Sycamore, IL. LaVila was born March 13, 1939, in LaValle, Wisconsin the daughter of Glen O. and May C. (Barton) Malisch. She married Clyde R. McConnell in Belvidere, IL on June 22, 1957. LaVila graduated from Kishwaukee School of Nursing in Malta, IL earning her Registered Nurse degree. LaVila practiced her nursing skills at Highland Hospital for many years; she retired from Brookside Clinic after a fulfilling career of serving the community. LaVila also invested 15 years of her life with the Capron Rescue Squad. LaVila made her spiritual home at Capron United Methodist Church where she was involved with the United Methodist Women's circle. She and Clyde were members of Boone Lake and enjoyed time fishing with their family. LaVila loved to read, crochet, play cards and work in ceramics.

LaVila is loved and will be missed by her husband, Clyde; children, Gary (Debra) McConnell, Mona (Tom) Olsen, Clarisa McConnell; Grandchildren, Thomas Olsen, Caleb McConnell, Jessica Fulbright, Makayla Elliott, Todd Gaut; great-grandchildren, Malaki Elliott, Mckenzie Elliott, and Micha Elliott; special sister in -law, Marcia Malisch; others who are remembering LaVila include Gary Bennett, and Lois Swenson. LaVila is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert G. Malisch; sister, Gloria J. Bennett.

The Funeral service for LaVila will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2022, in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Avenue, Belvidere, IL. The visitation will be held from 10:00 to11:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial in Belvidere Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given in care of Capron United Methodist Church in LaVila's memory.
