Laverne M. Raczkowski, 80 of Belvidere formerly of Streamwood, Ill. died Monday, December 29, 2008 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center following a long illness. She was born September 28, 1928 in Chicago, the daughter of Louis and Lena (Brandt) Lissy. Laverne married Walter Raczkowski in Chicago. He preceded her in death. She was a retail clerk for the former Main Street Co. located in Spring Hill Mall, Dundee, Ill. She was a member of the Lutheran faith. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren, crafting and shopping. Laverne is survived by her two sons, Richard (Barb) of Poplar Grove, Ill. and James (Pamela) of Apollo Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; one expected great granddaughter; a former daughter-in-law, Cynthia Raczkowski; In addition to her husband, Laverne is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kenneth and a sister.
