Laure Barkho, 77, of Belvidere, died peacefully at 4:30 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2008 in Biltmore Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Born May 10, 1931 in Kafarchima, Lebanon to Shafic and Hoda El-Kareh. Survivors include four daughters and two sons, Hoda (Paul) Baumgartner, Belvidere, Jeanette (Joseph) Khochaba, Naperville, Ill., Julie (Johnson) Odisho, Belvidere, Wema (Mike) Mercado, Poplar Grove, Jean (Ivette) Barkho, Acworth, Ga. and Elie (Marie) Barkho, Cherry Valley, Ill.; her grandchildren, John (Chris) Khochaba, Belvidere, Jacques, Laureen and Charles Barkho, Acworth, Ga., Katia (Nadim) El-Kareh, Naperville, Dany and Nicole Khochaba, Naperville, Carole Khochaba, San Diego, Ca., Jessica and Jonathan Odisho, Belvidere and Mikey Mercado, Poplar Grove; and her great grandchildren, Mia, Mikaylah and Joey Khochaba, Belvidere and Anthony, Andrew and Rianna of Naperville.
