Larry Dean Osborne, Sr., 70, of Belvidere, went to be with the Lord on October 9, 2016. He was born on January 19, 1946, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Vernon and Alberta (Williams) Osborne. Larry graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1964 and proudly served in the Army, during the  Vietnam War, from 1969 to 1971. He married his sweetheart, Margaret Carlisle, twice, once on April 3, 1971 in Rockford, and again June 5, 2016, on their driveway in Belvidere.

Larry was employed by Chrysler in 1968 and retired in 1999. He worked as a welder for 31 years. Larry and Margaret were members of First Assembly Church in Belvidere where he served as Deacon. He took really good care of the church as a grounds keeper and helped pastor by watching over the church. He was a member of local 1268 in Belvidere. He made furniture for their home, was a good mechanic, could run electrical and loved to mow grass. He was a Jack of all trades. He also loved to hunt, swim and had a passion for muscle cars. He was a proud owner of a 1965 Mustang. Larry had a huge heart and it showed in his love for his family his kids and grandkids.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; sons, Larry Dean (Gloria) Osborne, Jr. and Jimmy (Tammi) Osborne; daughters, Elizabeth and Tammy Osborne; grandchildren, Joshua (Clarissa) Osborne, Tonya (Patrick) Mazella , Kira and Kaila Osborne, Ashley (Mirek) Osborne- Zuchniak, John (Megan) Osborne, Jessica (Dan) Ward, Louisa (Kenneth) Rolax, and Carlos Osborne-Valdez ; great-grandchildren, Skylar and Xander Osborne, Kate and Patrick Mazella, Emily Zuchniak, Liam Osborne, Kylee and Jaxon Ward, Kennedy Rolax, Gabriela McKinney and Kennisa Rolax, Keyonia and Harmoney Rolax, Jocelyne Osborne-Valdez, and two great-grandchildren coming soon; brother, Harry "Bill" (Laveda) Osborne; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Vernon Osborne, Jr.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 13, at Anderson Funeral And Cremation Services, 218 West Hurlbut, Belvidere, IL, 61008. Reverend Dale Anderson officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
