LaVonne A. "Bonnie" Pirtle, 70, of Belvidere died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center arising from complications from surgery. She was born July 7, 1936 in Fairmont, Minnesota, the daughter of Ellsworth and Della (Farnsworth) Meyer. She worked in the Paint Department for Daimler-Chrysler Corp. for 33 years, retiring in 2001. She moved to Belvidere in 1966, coming here from Minnesota. Bonnie was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. In her past time, she enjoyed performing with the Silver Bells Singing Group and playing cards and shooting pool at the Keen Age Center. She is a graduate of Fairmont High School. She is survived by 2 sons, Robert (Judy) Meyer, Poplar Grove, Ill.; Joel (Kim) Alford, Beloit, Wis.; a daughter, Cindy Alford, Rockford, Ill.; 5 grandchildren, Karen (Ed) Paholski; Dwayne George; Tim (Karen) Brockway; Melissa (Rick) Applewhite; Cassandra Wille; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Rosie (Mike) Long; Las Vegas, Nev.; and 3 brothers in Minnesota. Bonnie is preceded in death by parents, a son, Stanley Alford and granddaughter, April Meyer and a brother.
