Kimberly Kuba, 45, of DeKalb, IL, died peacefully surrounded by her family, August 22, 2022 in her home. She was born January 12, 1977, in Clinton, Iowa, daughter to Edward and Phyllis (Null) Smerke. She received her Bachelor Degree in Special Education and married her "happily ever after," Mike Kuba on May 29, 1999, in Rockford, IL. She worked as a Special Education Facilitator and was a long time teacher at Cowherd Middle School in Aurora, IL. She loved her family,loved to be a wife and momand enjoyed traveling, especially to Disney. She loved going to see Garth Brooks in concert and had the privilegeof bringing her mom and dad along for a live show of his that had lasting memories for all.

Kim is loved and will be dearly missed by her husband, Mike; children, Michael and Kylie; mother, Phyllis Smerke; sister, Karen (Mike) Cota; grandpa, Roy Hedrick; brother in-law, David; and mother and father in-law, Mike and Dawn Kuba.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ed Smerke; grandparents, Chris and Ed Smerke;Papa, Mike Kuba; grandma, Lucille Hedrick; Godparents, Anne and Jim Mayne;and many special aunts and uncles.

A memorial visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere , IL 61008. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. Patrick Anderson will officiate. In lieu of flowers and in her memory and honor, memorials to the family.
