Kenneth O. Love, 84, of Poplar Grove, IL died Sunday afternoon, March 8, 2009 in Shands Hospital, University of Florida, Gainesville after a sudden illness. Kenneth was born December 4, 1924 in Roscoe, Illinois the son of Walter V. and Iva (Seyller) Love, Sr. Kenneth married Roberta M. Schrader in the parsonage of 1st United Methodist Church in Belvidere on June 15, 1944. He served in the 29th Infantry of the US Army during World War II. During his service, he became the recipient of four battle Stars for combat at Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. Kenneth was an interior designer for Dague Decorators of Belvidere. Kenneth loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought him much joy and happiness. He enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening and won many ribbons at the Boone Co. Fair. Kenneth enjoyed traveling and cruises to different Islands with family and was a wonderful cook.Survivors include his children, Bonnie (Randy) Martin of Hoopeston, IL, Allen (Opal) of Bloomington, Tommie of Poplar Grove; daughter in-law, Nancy A. Love; grandchildren, Timothy Martin, Christopher (Mary) Love, Jodi Love, Daniel (Vickie) Love, Bradley (Michelle) Love, Tyler (Cassandra) Love; great grandchildren, Jamie, Devon, David, James, Wyatt, Aidan and Garrett; sister, Betty Rhodes, Marge (Leonard) Bloese, Bernice (Robert) Tessman, Joanne (Melvin) Small, Patricia (Paul) Tierman; brothers, Lynn (Ruth) Love, Jack (Mary) Love, Bob (Evelyn) Love, Jim (Ruth) Love, George (Carole) Love; sister in-laws, Ruth Love and Geri Love; his lady friend, Patricia Huntington.Predeceased by his parents, wife, Roberta; sisters, Mary Braun, Verna Goddard; brothers, Glen, Walter, Donald and John.
