Kenneth R. Coleman, 60, of Belvidere, passed away suddenly, on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Swedish American Medical Center, Belvidere. He was born March 12, 1957, son of Robert and Betty (Houtz) Coleman. Ken married Jo Ellen Matheson on March 18, 1983 in Rockton, IL. He worked as a carpenter by trade and earned a building inspection certification. Ken was a member of the County Line Grange. He loved the Oakland Raiders, and tinkering around and fixing things. Ken was known for meeting the boys for coffee at Uncle John's at 1:30 p.m. every day and 2:30 p.m., on Saturdays. His main priority was his family and making sure they were taken care of. Ken adored his grandchildren with every ounce of his being and will be greatly missed.

Ken is loved and missed by his wife, Jo Ellen, daughters, Dolly (Troy Bunting) Coleman, TiMara (Mike) Gulley, and Nikki Bishop; brothers, Robert (Susan) Coleman, Scott (Cindy) Coleman, and Thomas Coleman; mother-in-law, Celestia Matheson; sister-in-laws, Jacqueline Murray and Marilyn Matheson; brother-in-laws, David (Carol) Matheson, and Duane (June Wilkinson) Matheson and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Dan Matheson.

A celebration of Ken's life will take place at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Belvidere VFW Post 1461, 1310 West Lincoln Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008 with a service starting at 5:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
