Kay O'Brien, 79, of Floral City, Florida, died peacefully October 21, 2022, in Belvidere. She was born July 24, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of Alastair Haydyn and Marion Loratta (Phillips) Beedle. She graduated high school and married William Walter O'Brien on July 10, 1976 in Michigan. She taught preschool and was a UAW Ford Union worker.
Kay attended a Methodist church as a child. She belonged to the VFW with her husband who was in the Navy. She loved shuffle board, Wii Bowling, swimming and travelling. She especially loved to sing Karaoke, singing all of the classics. Kay was caring, very nurturing and always helping others. She had a kind heart.
She will be loved and missed by her stepdaughters, Debbie O'Brien and Georgette (Alan) Nates; stepson, Charles O'Brien; brothers, Jon Beedle; sisters, Maureen Earnest and Mary Beth Ries; grandchildren, Jenny (Ramon) Tirado, Jason Nates, Robert Morris, Heather (Dan) Barlow, Kyle O'Brien, Katie O'Brien and Ashley Ebert; 8 great-grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Alastair and Marion; husband, William; brother, George Ries and sister, Marian Beedle.
