Kathleen A. Johnson went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 15, 2007 after a short, yet courageous battle with cancer. Kathleen was born September 17, 1938 in Chicago, the daughter of John and Helen Hoolehan. Kathleen married Gerald Johnson on April 23, 1960.She is survived by her six children, Thomas (Jill) Johnson, Loves Park, Donald (Julie) Johnson, Hoffman Estates, Sharon (Jeff) Knox, Poplar Grove, Steve (LaRonda) Johnson, Poplar Grove, Susan Johnson , Naperville, and Teresa (Sean) Bartlett, Belvidere; nine grandchildren John, Melissa, Kathryn, Allison, Carolyn, Camden, Abigail, Elisabeth, Jocelyn; brothers, Jack (Hazel) Hoolehan, Oceanside, CA, Edward (Nancy) Hoolehan, Claire, MI; sister, Pat (Richard) Riske, Arlington Heights; many nieces and nephews; special feline friend that always stuck by her side, Sami. Kathleen was very blessed to have Louanne and Gordy Gotsch in her life. They were two longtime friends that always brought joy and support to her and her family. Kathleen is predeceased by her husband, Gerald and her parents.Her favorite pastime activities included playing Phase 10 with her nine grandchildren, bowling on the Tuesday Skips league, playing Friday night Bunco with friends, and rooting on the Cubs. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A special thank you goes out to her doctors, especially Dr. Rose, and her kind nurses, Jen, Katie and Sara.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be establishing a memorial fund for the placement of a bench at Friendship Park in Candlewick Lake. The family will also be planting a special tree next to the one that was dedicated to their father, Gerald.
