Katherine A. "Kayan" Quick, 65, of Belvidere, IL died Monday, October 10, 2011 in her home. Kayan was born January 16, 1946 the daughter of James M. and Katherine (Waples) Quick in Daytona Beach, FL. Kayan graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Library Science. She worked for the IDA Public Library in Belvidere for 23 years retiring in 2008. Kayan was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, enjoyed knitting, Civil War History, horses, dogs and her Santa Clause collection.Kayan is loved and will be missed by her siblings, Michael (Olivia) Quick of San Diego, IL, Melcolm (Gail) Quick of Oswego, IL, Marcia (Sam) Pitner of Roscoe, IL; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Kayan is predeceased by her parents James and Katherine Quick and her brother John Quick.

Memorials can be given in care of the Ida Public Library in Kayan's memory.
