Katherine M. Durant, 53, of Rockford, died Saturday, September 24, 2005 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center following a sudden illness. Born May 29, 1953 in Upper Manhattan, New York, daughter of Fernando L. and Edna A. (Rodriguez) Durante. She has lived the past seven years in Rockford, coming here from California. She was owner of Candlelight Industries. Member of First Assembly of God. Her hobbies included woodworking, collecting medieval objects and art. She graduated from Chaffey College with a Bachelor Arts degree in art.Survivors include, three sons, Vincent, and Noel Montoya, both of California; and Jonathan Perez, Rockford; sister, Linda Figueroa, of Belvidere; two brothers, Eli (Lupe) Durant, Rockford; Bobby Durant, Belvidere; grandmother, Sofia Rodriguez, Belvidere. Predeceased by parents and several aunts and uncles.
