Karen K. Wascher, age 63, of Garden Prairie, Illinois, died early Saturday morning, May 21, 2005 at home surrounded by her loving family after a short term illness. Kaye was born November 6, 1941 in Belvidere, IL the daughter of William J. and Marvis R. (Watson) Wascher. Kaye worked 36 years for Marengo Federal Savings and Loan working her way up to vice president and retired from Interserve Packaging in July 2004. Kaye was a member of Garden Prairie United Church of Christ, where she was a deacon and served many years as treasurer; she was an avid bowler belonging to the Women's American Bowling Congress, Garden Prairie Improvement Board and served on the Garden Prairie Cemetery Association Board.Survivors include her mother, Marvis of Garden Prairie, IL; sister, Patricia (Paul) Rivers of Belvidere, IL; brother, William (Judy) Wascher of Belvidere, IL; nieces and nephews, Mike (Julie) Rivers, Patrick (Lisa) Rivers, Kelly (Tracy) Rivers, Gaye (Steve) Masnjak, Daniel (Shelly) Wascher, Corey (Sandra) Wascher, Wendy (Tony) Bruno, ten Great nieces and nephews; special friends, Edith Watts, Sue Simons, Kathy Wesemann and Nita Vangeisen. Kaye is predeceased by her father, William and her grandparents.The family wishes to acknowledge the staff of V.N.A. Hospice especially Paula, Bobbie and Linda for the care given to Kaye and her family.
Memorials can be given to Garden Prairie United Church of Christ, Visiting Nurses Association Hospice or Garden Prairie Improvement Association in her memory.
