Karen J. Miedema, 57, of West Dundee, IL passed away Friday morning, November 20, 2015 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin, IL, after a short illness.  Karen was born November 3, 1958 in Elmhurst, IL the daughter of William K. and Dorothy J. (Pearson) Miedema.   Karen was the Director of training and instruction for the T.S.A. at Chicago O'Hare International Airport.  Karen enjoyed reading, traveling, taking walks in the park; as well as cooking, bird-watching and elephants.  She was passionate about how she loved her boys and her family.

Karen is loved and will be missed by her sons, Kaden and Jory Schultz; mother, Dorothy Perkins; brothers, William, Gregory, Howard; sister, Nancy and many nieces and nephews.  Karen is preceded in death by her father, William and brother, Richard.

Visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 23, 2014 at First Baptist Church, 1255 W. Jackson St., Belvidere, IL.  Funeral services at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the church.  Burial in Belvidere Cemetery.
