Karen A. Dunn, 72, of Belvidere, IL passed away surrounded by her family on December 13, 2020 in Rockford, IL. Karen was born on January 15, 1948 in Dubuque, IA to Harry and Minnie (Rupp) Whitfield. Karen married her loving husband of 44 years, Larry Dunn, on November 26, 1976 in Belvidere, IL. Karen had the most important job of all, she was a mom, and she was a homemaker. Karen loved to read, and she loved to celebrate Christmas. She was an avid animal lover. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family, but especially her grandchildren whom she adored.

Karen will be dearly missed by her husband, Larry; her children, Larry J. Dunn, Denise Delaney, John R. (Nate Plager) Delaney, Arlene (Allen) Schwebke, Lisa (Butch) Hagen, and Melissa Rushton; her 2 brothers, Michael and James Whitfield; her grandchildren, Jeremy D'Anza, Stefan Smith, Joshua Popham, Jared Popham, Morgan Hagen, Zach Hagen, Haylee Hagen, Madison Rushton, Gabe Rushton, Justin Dunn, Jordan Dunn, Ethan Dunn, Gabe Dunn, Kayla Dudley, Kody Dudley, and Katy Dudley; her great-grandchildren, Veyda Avery, Joshua, Jr., Chalice, and Urban; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Lilian and Sally.

The walk-through visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. Karen was an avid animal lover, so the family has asked that memorial donations in her memory be gifted to the animal shelter of your choosing.
