K. Robert Blietz, passed away May 29, 2023. He was born on October 7, 1952 in Belvidere, IL. The son of Jeannette (Boyce) and Robert Blietz. Bob graduated from Belvidere High School and continued his education at Rock Valley College where he graduated with an associates degree. Bob was a dedicated postal service worker for many years. He was a letter carrier for the Belvidere surrounding area for over 30 years. Bob was a member of the Battery G. Illinois Civil War reenactment group. He enjoyed spending his time participating in battle reenactments including Civil War, WWI and WWII, living history encampments, parades, ceremonies and educational presentations. He often rode his horse to engage in the reenactment, a hobby he took much pride in. Bob also served the Belvidere community as a part time law enforcement deputy, ensuring safety at the annual Boone County Fair. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his brother, Bill (Janice) Blietz; nieces, Jennifer Twardesky and Jacquelyn Sanderson; and great-nephews, Luke, Jacob and Matthew. He is predeceased by his parents, Jeannette and Robert Blietz.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial at Belvidere Cemetery with graveside service will be Friday, June 16, 2023 at 11am.
