Rockford, IllinoisJunior R. Coats, 61, of Rockford, IL died Monday evening, August 7, 2006 in Clement J. Zabloski VA Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI after a lingering illness. Junior was born July 20, 1945 in Red Bay, Alabama the son of Floyd O and Opal (Humphries) Coats. He was married to Linda K. Coats for 25 years having married in 1968 in Cleveland. OH. He was a brick layer for 34 years and a veteran of the US army servicing from 1967 to 1976. He enjoyed fishing, car racing, working with wood and was an avid animal and dog lover.Survivors include his son, Douglas E. Coats, daughter, Sherri L. Murdock; sisters Eloise Maravick and Joyce Thomas; grandchildren, Hannah, Holly, Jolie, Destiny, Doug, Kalynn.Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 13, 2006 in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL with Rev. Patricia Anderson officiating. Cremation rites were accorded. Memorial visitation from 1:00 p.m. to service time Sunday at the funeral home.
