IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julie Margaret
Kleive
February 28, 1946 – March 7, 2026
Julie Margaret Kleive of Capron, 80, passed away on March 7 in Rockford, Illinois.
She was born on February 28, 1946, to Lillian (Hoy) and Harry Kleive. Julie lived her entire life on the Kleive family farm—the same land where her father was born in 1905.
Julie attended school at Capron (Boone-LeRoy) Grade School and North Boone High School. After graduating, she attended Rockford School of Business and continued her education over the years with classes at Rock Valley College.
In January 1966, Julie began a distinguished 60-year career with the Boone County Circuit Clerk's Office. She served four terms as the elected Circuit Clerk, retiring in 2004, only to return four months later to continue serving as a part-time imager until January 2026.
Beyond her professional life, Julie was a woman of diverse interests, from photography to a musical palette that stretched from Bach to Bluegrass. An avid film enthusiast, she was particularly proud of her Best Picture Oscar winner collection - a cinematic library she maintained faithfully from the 1928 winner onward. Julie's travels often led her to Ireland - connecting with her deep ancestral roots and touring the countryside. Closer to home, Julie frequently visited the Northwoods of Ely, Minnesota, where her passion for wolves led her to become a devoted supporter and advocate of the International Wolf Center. Her curiosity and dedication to her many hobbies remained a hallmark of her 80 years.
Survivors include Julie's nephew, John (Karen) Anderson of Cherry Valley; great-nieces, MaryKate Anderson of Chicago and McKenna Anderson of St. Louis; first cousins, Mary Carlson of Clinton, Wisconsin, Mark (Sara) Carlson of Port Elliot, South Australia, and Randy (Kay) Carlson of Red Wing, Minnesota. Julie also leaves behind countless loving friends who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
She is predeceased by her parents, sister Harriett and brother-in-law Donald Anderson as well as very special companions, John Woodward and Don Adams.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14 at Capron Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow at the Capron Lions Community Building. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Capron Lutheran Church or the International Wolf Center of Ely, Minnesota.
