Judy Ann (Gorham) Lamping, 73, of Cherry Valley, IL. took her final breath at home on April 2, 2024. She was surrounded by her most favorite thing in life: her family. Judy was born January 30th, 1951 in Rockford, IL to Darlene Streit and Tuffy Gorham. Judy married the love of her life, Gary Lamping, a couple of times, with the final marriage celebrated on March 2, 1975.

Everyone that met Judy loved her. She loved hard, had the kindest soul and had a laugh that you could recognize anywhere. Judy and Gary filled their lives with experiences, not things. They traveled often and looked forward to many more adventures together until Gary's early death. Judy retired from Deans Foods in Belvidere, IL. and then chose to live a simple life. She loved being home, enjoying coffee, playing word games and spending time with family. She is deeply loved, and we will miss her for the rest of our lives.

She leaves behind her legacy & love with her surviving family members. Son: Zachery (Dena) Lamping, daughter: Dena Gates. Grandchildren Aaron (Alexis Rowald) Lamping, Alyssa Lamping, Connor Gates, Andrew Gates. Mother: Darlene Streit. Sister: Cindy (Bill) Hathaway. Sister: Cindy (Jim) Gorham. Brother-in-law Les (Kathy) Lamping, Sister-in-Law: Joy Palmeri; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Lamping; parents, Tuffy and Geri Gorham; father, Donald Streit; brother, Jim Gorham; niece Kaelyn Hathaway.

Services will be held Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Anderson Funeral Home in Belvidere, IL; visitation from 10am-2pm, with a funeral service and cremation to follow. Private burial at Cherry Valley Cemetery to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the family.
