After a spirited and grace-filled expedition with emphysema and C.O.P.D., Judy King died from a sudden illness on Friday, May 16, 2008 in Swedish American Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born February 17, 1942 the daughter of Richard L. and Doris E. (Tessman) Cartwright in Tomah, Wisconsin. She married Kenneth E. Lembke, Sr. in Belvidere, Illinois in 1960 and then married Charles E. King on August 8, 1969 in Belvidere. Charles predeceased Judy on July 4, 1982. Judy worked for Warner Electric as an assembly technician. Judy was an advocate for St. Jude's Children's Hospital, she enjoyed camping at Yellowstone Lake Chalet. She loved to crochet and read romance novels and work crossword puzzles. Judy collected angels, was a Sunday School teacher and member of 1st Baptist Church. She enjoyed Friday Fish Frys at the Navy Club, monthly breakfast with the camping crew and fishing for croppies and bluegills. Judy brought her joy of life and love of relationships wherever she went. Her greatest love was spending time with family and friends and her love of children.She is survived by her life partner, Robert L. Shacklee; daughters, Kathy L. Corey, Kimberly J. (Mark Cunningham) Wennmacher, Kristeen E. (Dennis) Kiesling, Michelle M. (Joe Pirrello) Addington; grandchildren, Tanya, Tiffany, Amanda, Tracey, Allison, Robert, Brooke; brothers Dennis R. (Posie) Cartwright, Garold L. Cartwright; sister, Carol J. Swafford; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Dode Soma, Judy Yunk and Betty Dean.Judy is predeceased by her father, Richard L. Cartwright; mother, Doris E. Cartwright Beardsley; stepfather, William J. Beardsley; son, Kenneth E. Lembke, Jr.; grandson, Michael Charles King-Pirrello.
