Obituary

Judith L. "Judy" Yunk, 72, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully, Friday evening, March 13, 2015 in her home surrounded by her loving family.  Judy was born May 22, 1942 in Belvidere, IL the daughter of Roy Joseph and Harriet Louise (Lee) Loveridge.  In high school, Judy was a member of the high school marching band.  She married Shaun W. Yunk on March 25, 1959 at the US Naval Base David Adams Memorial Chapel in Norfolk, VA – it was one of the happiest days of her life. In her younger years she waitressed for Mr. Quick's for 10 years; but mostly, Judy loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Belvidere where she taught Sunday school when her kids were little.  She was also a Girl Scout leader for her daughters.

Judith is loved and will be missed by her husband, Shaun of Belvidere; children, Shauna (Paul) Arco of Belvidere, Troy (Barbi) Yunk of Belvidere, Scott (Debbie) Yunk of Poplar Grove, Deana (Matthew) Ghastin of Belvidere; brother, Robert Loveridge of Rockford; sister, Dolores (Larry) Soma of Herbert, IL; grandchildren, Sara (Kenny) Beever, Aaron Leonard, Dustin Boardman, Caleb Boardman, Bruyn Yunk, Tyler Yunk, Eryk Yunk, Skyler Yunk, Sam Arco, Mason Yunk, Jacob Popovich, Connor Yunk, Evan Velmont; great-grandson, Max Beever; nieces and nephews.  Judy is predeceased by her parents; brothers, Eugene, Roger and David Loveridge.

The family acknowledges Swedish American Home Health and Heartland Hospice for the care given to Judy.  Her children will always remember with gratitude how their father cared for and loved their mother, into the Heavenly Kingdom.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 20, 2015 in First United Methodist Church 610 Bonus Avenue, Belvidere with Rev. Amy Poust, pastor officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL.  Burial in Highland Garden of Memories.  Memorials in Judy's name can be made to the Arthritis Foundation in her memory.  To light a candle or to share a memory, please visit www.AndersonFCS.com
