Judith K. Byers, 75, of Belvidere, passed away peacefully after a long illness, Sunday evening, April 9, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born April 23, 1941 in Belvidere, daughter of Howard and Dorothy (Hays) Sellers. She married the love of her life, Charles "Chuck" Byers on October 15, 1960 in Belvidere. Judy was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, where she served on the Ada Stearns Fellowship, Dorcas Circle and as a Sunday School Teacher. She loved reading, painting, shopping, and cooking. The lights of Judy's life were her children, and grandchildren; she loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events and baking their favorite treats. She also loved spending time at the lake as a family.

Judy is loved and missed by her loving husband, Charles Byers; children, Chuck (Annette) Byers and Shelley (Matt) Bankord; grandchildren, Nathan Byers, Samantha (Nick) Hawkinson, Taylor Byers, Luke, Jace, Noah and Ava Bankord; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Jean Ann Pearson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 14, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 1255 W. Jackson St, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Rev. David Love officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere.
