Judith Ann Smith, born March 22, 1951, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Judi was born in Alton, West Virginia, and later moved to Brodhead, Wisconsin, before settling in Belvidere, Illinois. She will be remembered for her loving heart, sassy personality, stubborn determination, and lively spirit.

Judi cherished her family above all else and treasured the time she spent with the people she loved. She enjoyed sitting around a campfire with family and friends, playing cards, cooking, and sharing good conversation. She loved hearing everyone's stories and had a special way of making those around her feel comfortable and welcome. She also had a playful side and enjoyed tubing, singing to Home on the Range, dancing, and finding a reason to have a good time.

One of Judi's favorite chapters of her life was being a dairy farmer. She was a devoted Minnesota Vikings fan and had a special love for the color purple. She found joy in life's simple moments and never needed much of a reason to laugh, have fun, or bring people together.

Judi is survived by her children, Dusty (Tammy) Menge and Jennifer (Paul) Sanders; her grandchildren, Tyler, Allison, Ryan, Dylan, Katelyn (Jonathon) Backs, Kyle, Keith, Valerie (Matt) Nyman, Fred, and Ryan; and her great-grandchildren, Payton, Madison, Brooklyn, Ava, Hailey, Weston, Makayla, Bennett, and Anastasia.

She is also survived by her siblings, Michelle (Adam) Wille and Jim Davis Jr.; and her nieces, Harmony and Mary Moyer.

Judi leaves behind her cherished and loving fiancé, Fred Lenz; his children, Kassy (Joe) Nepean and Ally Whitaker; and his grandchildren, Kaylee, Chance, Eddie, and Jonathan.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Russell; her father, Jim Davis Sr; the father of her children, Ronald Menge.; and her late husband, Jason Smith.

Judi was a member of the American Legion in Belvidere. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her laughter, warmth, sassy spirit, and love for those around her will remain in the hearts and memories of those she leaves behind.

Cremation rites have been accorded to Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
