Joyce Amelia Porter, 82, of Belvidere, Illinois, peacefully went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2025. She was born on April 4, 1943, in Belvidere, the cherished daughter of Ione Estelle (Hammond) and Albert Joseph Kiddell.

Joyce grew up in Belvidere, where she formed many lifelong friendships and memories. She graduated from Belvidere High School and later earned her degree from Northern Illinois University. With a sharp mind and a warm heart, Joyce built a long and successful career as a legal secretary in Alaska. After many years up north, she returned to her roots in Belvidere, where she worked as a receptionist at the Keen Age Center.

Joyce was a woman of deep faith and unwavering devotion. A longtime member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, she found great comfort and strength in her relationship with the Lord. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A frequent visitor of Barnes & Noble and an avid reader.  Joyce had a special love for animals, especially cats.

She will be deeply missed.

Joyce is survived by her children, Julie Wildhaber, Jeff (Candi) Wildhaber, grandchildren, Matthew (Erin) Liparota, Brianna (Adam) Hoggatt, and Nicholas (Cat) Liparota; great-granddaughter, Ramona; sister, Kathleen Kiddell; nephews, Jim (Marie) Hill and Mark (Sue) Hill; great niece and nephew, Matthew and Annamarie Hill, as well as numerous extended family members she loved dearly.

She is welcomed into heaven by her parents, Ione, and Walter H. Schwartz, and many cousins.

Her visitation will be Sunday, August 17 between the hours of 1pm to 5pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008. A prayer service will be at 1:30pm.

Cremation rites and inurnment to follow with services 10 a.m., Friday, August 22, 2025, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 217 E Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
