Joyce Johnson, 91, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully, November 8, 2023. Joyce was born September 11, 1932 in Belvidere, Illinois the daughter of Clifton and Ruth (Ackerman) Gilliland. She met and married Charles Donald "Don" Johnson on December 27, 1951 in Belvidere; he preceded her in death on August 10, 2001. Joyce made her spiritual home at Zion Lutheran Church in Belvidere. Joyce retired from the Illinois Drivers Bureau; previous to her retirement she worked as an eyeglass specialist, enjoyed farming and even waitressed for a time. She enjoyed fishing every year with her cousin and husband.

Joyce is loved and will be missed by her sons, Rodney (Deidra) Johnson, Bradley (Barb Vaughan) Johnson; grandchildren, Erika, Kristofor, Nicholas, and Alex; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Brody, Jessalyn, and Mason. Joyce is predeceased by her parents, husband and grandson, Adam.

Joyce's visitation will be Wednesday, November 15, at 10am at Zion Lutheran Church, located at 1300 Pearl St., Belvidere, IL 61008. Funeral service to follow at 11am. Burial at Lawrenceville Cemetery.
