Joyce J. "Joy" Fast, 78, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully, Wednesday evening, March 29, 2017 at Valley Hi Nursing Home, Woodstock after a long battle with Alzheimers. She was born May 21, 1938 in Stetsonville, WI, daughter of Eric and Hattie (Perlick) Johnson. She married the love of her life, Gerald Fast on May 2, 1959 at Broadway Covenant Church in Rockford. Joyce graduated from Rock Valley College. Her most recent employment was as a pharmacy technician at K-Mart. Joyce was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Belvidere. In the past, she was a Sunday school teacher and superintendent.  She was part of the Belvidere Women's Club and the Gideons. Joyce loved reading, gardening, birdwatching, nature, and baking. Most of all, she put a tremendous effort in her volunteer work.

Joyce is loved and missed by her husband, Gerald; children, Janelle (Paul) Beilke, Jon (Renee) Fast and Juliana (James) Hatfield; grandchildren, Ryan, Megan, Michael, and Ben; one great-granchild, Ethan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Sharon Waitman.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 1255 West Jackson Street, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Rev. Dave Love officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, April 3, 2017 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008. Burial is private.
